Land Surveyor

We are looking to develop and grow our business in the Northeast and are seeking a full-time licensed Land Surveyor to work in our Storrs, CT or Providence, Rhode Island office. The ideal candidate will be licensed LS in the state of RI and have experience in providing surveying data for transportation projects.


  • Land surveying experience, including managing land surveying projects
  • RI LS license
  • Proficient in all aspects of land surveying including boundary line and topographic survey as well as construction stakeout
  • Experience with electronic instruments, field data collectors, AutoCAD and Civil 3D software, GPS and Robotic Instruments
  • Thorough understanding of the use of up-to-date survey technologies and interface with AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • Individuals must be detail oriented, have excellent communications skills and ability to meet deadlines
  • Individuals must display advanced teamwork and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Coordinate and manage surveying activities for our RIDOT projects, including budget and schedule
  • Performance and/or oversight of surveying calculations
  • Analysis and interpretation of public records research, including deeds, plans and other pertinent documents for the project
  • Coordination of field crews and Survey/CAD Technicians
  • Perform field checks, manage quality control of all products
  • Coordinate with other disciplines including roadway and drainage departments
  • Uphold superior quality standards
  • Perform site visits to verify and document conditions
  • Keep Team Leaders and Department Manager informed of work load and any changes in project schedule or scope
  • Prepare technical reports
  • Prepare or review standard documents and correspondence
  • Organize, prepare for and run project meetings
  • Provide guidance to junior staff

The chosen candidate will be able to effectively communicate (written & oral), possess superior organizational skills, have proficient computer skills, and work effectively to meet scheduling requirements and quality control standards.  The candidate will be required to uphold Governmental and Corporate Quality Assurance Policies/Procedures.
